Memories

Sitting at USC in the sun
Watching these college kids run
So full of happiness and joy
It reminds of back when I was a young boy
Back in the days of fun and games
Back before everything became lame
With hope and joy at our feet
Before life and everything made us feel beat
We played all day in the sun and rain
We never ever thought life would bring us pain
We rooted for the Ms and watched them win
Griffey and Edgar where like our own kin
The sonics made us jump with happiness
We never thought their would be crappiness
Long summer days playing in the sun
We never thought their wouldn't be any fun
Running on the beach and playing in the woods
We never heard we couldn't only that we could
No worrys or cares
Life didn't make us scared
The future looked up and joyous and complete
We didn't care if we had dirty feet
But as I got older our lives all changed
Our friends evolved and things where rearranged
Now as I sit here as a man
I cherish the memories of a distant land
Though it may be gone
The memory lives on
